When doing guest clusters (typically SQL) on Hyper-V, there’s a known issue that potentially conflicts with the routing of cluster traffic from the adapters on the Hyper-V hosts cluster interface “Microsoft Failover Cluster Virtual Adapter Performance Filter” (which is new in 2012).
You’ll typically see cluster creation or node addition fail on a timeout even though icmp and other traffic passes just fine. You can disable this with the following command on each Hyper-V host: Get-netadapter | Disable-NetAdapterBinding -DisplayName “Microsoft Failover Cluster Virtual Adapter Performance Filter”
